Nicki Micheaux
Wocstar Media proudly named actor, writer, and director Nicki Micheaux as its 2024 Wocstar Media Fellow. Nicki exemplifies the creative entrepreneur who uses storytelling to take audiences on transformative journeys. Her film, Summer of Violence, highlights a Black woman’s poignant coming-of-age story with depth and resonance.
Summer of Violence premiered at film festivals and captivated audiences in theaters nationwide during the summer and fall of 2004. The film is now available for streaming and on-demand viewing.
DR. RON SIMONS
Wocstar Media's Fellow, Dr. Ron Simons, was a celebrated five-time Tony Award-nominated, four-time Tony Award-winning, and four-time Sundance Film Festival-selected producer.
Dr. Ron Simons passed away on June 12, 2024.
He remains a cherished member of the Wocstar family and a beloved Wocstar Media Fellow.
